Myrtos beach on Kefalonia, one of the Ionian Islands in Greece is renowned as being one of the most photographed beaches in the world. It is no wonder why, when you see the different blues in the sea.
Myrtos has been described as "one of the most dramatic beaches in Greece", with its "mile-and-a-half long arc of dazzling white pebbles."
It was used as the location for the mine explosion episode in the film Captain Corelli's Mandolin starring Nicholas Cage, Penelope Cruz and Christian Bale.
Myrtos has been voted 12 times the best Greek beach while it regularly features in best beaches lists.
