This charming Irish village, called Kinvara, is situated just north of The Burren, a landscape of limestone pavement rocks and alpine flowers. The northernmost part of this landscape can be seen in the background.
The village in County Galway in the west of Ireland lies at the head of Kinvara Bay. Known in Irish as Cinn Mhara, an inlet in the south-eastern corner of Galway Bay, from which the village took its name. It lies close to the border with The Burren in County Clare, in the province of Munster.
Situated to the east of the village is Dunguaire Castle, a towerhouse of the Ó hEidhin (O'Hynes) clan. A Fearadhach Ó hEidhin (Faragh O'Hynes) is recorded as the owner of the castle in a 1574 list of castles and their owners covering County Galway.

Having enjoyed photography for over 30 years, I got my first serious DSLR in 2009. I now capture images with a Nikon D850. Landscape, nature and travel photography excite me the most, but there's still room for macro photography. My favorite subject is waterfalls, especially in the fall. Capturing great photographs takes a lot of commitment, plenty of resources, a keen eye and most important a love of photography. My photographs are appropriate for home and business use, and suitable for advertising too. If you see something that you like, please Vote for, Favorite, leave a comment, or even Buy an image! To those of you who find something to purchase I would like to show my sincere gratitude and appreciation. Thank you so much! Also,...
