Description
A view close to one of the main visiting areas at Lavandes Angelvin near to the town of Valensole. The Valensole plateau is situated in the south of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, near Digne-les-Bains and the Verdon gorges, and covers an area of 800 sq km.
Fields of beautifully scented lavender abound here in the south of France alongside wheat fields and the very occasional sunflower field. There are a number of charming villages such as Saint-Martin-de-BrĂ´mes, Riez, and Esparron-de-Verdon in the area too.
The best time to visit these typical Provencal landscapes is July when the Valensole plateau is awash with gorgeous blue lavender in bloom. It's a sight and scent to behold!
