Description
After heavy snowfall and a good hike out of the town of Morzine in France I found this interesting location of trees with snow-laden branches. The area was so pristine and clean with just noises of lumps of snow falling.
Morzine is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of south-eastern France. It is a popular ski resort in the French Alps near the border with Switzerland.
This location is a few miles away from the French ski resort of Morzine. After an extremely heavy snowfall, the branches could barely take the weight. Away from the ski crowds the area was quiet and very peaceful apart from the noise of dropping lumps of snow.
A traditional market town in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Morzine is dominated by chalets spread across a river gorge, bordered by partially wooded slopes allowing skiing in poor weather conditions.
Situated at an altitude of 1000 m, it is one of the most northerly of the French Alpine resorts, and weatherwise benefits from the Mont Blanc microclimate. The locality enjoys panoramic mountain views and modern ski facilities, as well as hotels and restaurants in the town itself. The ski resort of Avoriaz is located on the territory of the commune.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
