Description
The abstract shapes of Lower Antelope Canyon near Page in Arizona can be seen at every turn. Here, the eagle's head was so prominent to me. The mind conjures up all sorts of emotions and feelings in this magical place.
Antelope Canyon was formed by the erosion of Navajo Sandstone due to flash flooding and other sub-aerial processes. Rainwater runs into the vast basin above the slot canyon sections, picking up speed and sand as it rushes into the narrow passageways. Over time the passageways have eroded away, which has deepened the corridors and smoothed hard edges to form those wonderful "flowing" shapes.
