Crabtree Falls in North Carolina is situated on the Blue Ridge Parkway north of Asheville. Following a recent hurricane, the water in the falls was at a greatly increased flow. Tumbling more than seventy feet into a deep pool below, Crabtree Creek falls over a towering, sheer cliff, forming one of Western North Carolina’s most beautiful waterfalls.
To get to the falls there is a short hike through a beautiful forest at just over a mile. Beyond the falls the hike climbs through a forest filled with mountain laurel, visiting the cascades of another small waterfall and trailing through a valley filled with rhododendron, wildflowers and grassy creek banks. There is an abundance of scenic beauty in a relatively short three miles – and the view from the base of this enormous waterfall is just stunning.
This image was taken while the tripod was delicately poised on the rickety bridge. It was fortunate that no other visitors were present at the time!
***********...
Having enjoyed photography for over 30 years, I got my first serious DSLR in 2009. I now capture images with a Nikon D850. Landscape, nature and travel photography excite me the most, but there's still room for macro photography. My favorite subject is waterfalls, especially in the fall. Capturing great photographs takes a lot of commitment, plenty of resources, a keen eye and most important a love of photography. My photographs are appropriate for home and business use, and suitable for advertising too. If you see something that you like, please Vote for, Favorite, leave a comment, or even Buy an image! To those of you who find something to purchase I would like to show my sincere gratitude and appreciation. Thank you so much! Also,...
